Spring Break

One of the FEW joys of being back in college is Spring Break. Mine was definitely a great, relaxing, and yet still productive vacation. One of the highlights was seeing a show at the famous comedy club, Second City. It gave greats like Billy Murray, Jim Belushi, Chris Farley, Tina Faye...their start in the biz (and by greats, I mean very funny people). :-) The 2 1/2 hours of short comedy skits were hilarious!!

One of the lowlights, opposite of highlights (?), was buying a citypass ticket at the Shedd Aquarium. The aquarium ticket itself was $25, and we were counting on seeing at least 2 other attractions, so when they advertised a ticket for $50 that would cover everything, we thought, "score"! However, the aquarium was quite a let down, and then when we went to the Field Museum in order to see one specific exhibit, it was going to cost an extra $14. Outrageous!! It was also school field trip day at the Field Museum, and basically a loud, stinky nightmare. To top it off we had to pay over $30 in parking fees. Welcome back to capitolist America, eh. The day was redeemed a bit after visiting the Art Institute, but all-in-all warranted a bad review on my blog! So there, Chicago! I know they will be deeply hurt by my rantings on this widely read blog. Anyway, makes me feel better.

So, there's a peek into my Chicagoland adventure. Big hooray for Angela and Chris for spoiling me all week.

yeah for the comedy club! sounds like so much fun! too bad that the museum wasn't "free" day.. which i must say is a great surprise when you get to walk in and they don't charge you. wouldn't it be even funner if all the employees started clapping and hooraying as you walked in.. when it was "free" day.. just a suggestion.. as i ramble
